Sarah Downes

Hello! I’m Sarah, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the Richmond and Kingston team as a SENDIASS practitioner at Polaris Children’s Services since January 2024. I also spend time on the helpline, advising families across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

With over 10 years of experience in education, I have dedicated my career to supporting children and young people with additional needs, including valuable experience in early years settings.

In my previous roles, I focused on creating engaging activities tailored to children’s developmental stages, always incorporating their interests to help them thrive. I truly believe that every child has the potential to succeed in a nurturing environment.

As a parent of a child with additional needs, I understand first-hand the unique and complex challenges that families face. My mission is to make the journey smoother for you by providing clear information, advice, and support. I am passionate about empowering parents to make informed decisions for their children, and instilling the confidence needed to navigate this journey independently.
